Welcome to Dakota Ridge camping, floating & cabins. Our 70 acres of land sits on the West Fork of the Black River. You can canoe, hike through the woods, or just sit back and watch all the birds. The Ozark Region’s beauty is amazing.
Dakota Ridge Campground in the heart of the Ozarks, just 105 miles southwest of St. Louis. Float the Black River in canoes or rafts and relax in our campground or cabin while planning to visit the natural wonders our region offers.
Come experience the beautiful Black River Recreation Area and the Arcadia Valley with its many treasures. Follow the Braille Trail through Elephant Rocks State Park. Meander through giant pink granite boulders or picnic among the trees. We're only 20 minutes from Johnson's Shut-ins, truly one of Mother Nature's most spectacular accomplishments! Fort Davidson, a civil war historic site, has an interesting visitors center. A diorama that lights up as the soldiers march toward battle, as well as, a brief film with the history of the area. The Battle of Pilot Knob, a pivotal civil war battle, is reenacted every three years. Come watch history unfold in front of you as 12,000 “confederate” troops surround the fort and its 1200 “union” inhabitants.
The Taum Sauk section of the Ozark Trail features the Devil’s Tollgate, Mina Sauk Falls and the highest point in Missouri, Taum Sauk Mountain. The terrain is rugged through the St. Francois Mountains, but will provide solitude and beautiful vistas.
